Mr. Piggies

Meet Piggies, the extraordinarily ordinary pig belonging to 11-year-old Josh from South Lake Tahoe, California.  We chose Piggies because he is an all-round great pig, just like most of your guinea pigs out there. Piggies lives with his guinea pig friend named Hamlet.  Josh tells us that he loves his guinea pigs and even though both have very different personalities, both pigs are very spoiled and love to eat treats all the time.  Josh writes about an incident that happened last summer right before break...

We were out on our deck where we let our pigs out a lot for free time.   My mom was helping me with some homework.  Piggies started to chew and lick on her toes and toenails.  My mom was cracking up and was having a hard time holding still.  Piggies then decided to come over and chew on my socks.

A note from Hunny:  "I guess treats for Piggies include toes and socks!  I'll stick with fruits and veggies with an occasional book page or two."   Josh continues...

My brother's teacher asked if we wanted to keep her class pig, Goldie, for the summer.  She knew we had pigs and could keep good care of her. Our pigs are both boys and she asked if we could please not bring Goldie back pregnant.  Well, you can only guess we didn't live up to this.  We brought her back to school very fat and healthy-looking and in October she laid a real cutie all white and fluffy.  The teacher named her "Snowball" and everyone loves her.

A note from Hunny:  "Those unexpected occurrences are the spice of life!"  Josh continues...

We let Piggies and Hamlet out on a regular basis to run around the house and they have learned how to go up and down the stairs!  The latest thing they have learned is to crawl under the recliner chair and climb into the fabric that hangs underneath the seat up inside the chair.  We call it the Piggy Hammock!

Josh tells us the most important thing of all...

I love my guinea pigs and they make me feel good.  I am not shy around them and most guinea pigs seem to like me.
